Senior Project Engineer

Eric Schmidt joined Progress Engineering in November 2024 as a Senior Project Engineer.

Eric received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering as well as Electrical Engineering Technologies from the University of Maine in Orono. He also received his Master of Science in Business Administration from Husson University in Bangor, Maine. He has over 20 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with experience in PLC control systems as well as custom machine designs. Eric also has experience in systems integration, factory plant layouts utilizing lean manufacturing, and project management to ensure all aspects of engineered design function with new and existing equipment. He is skilled in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to improve the reliability and efficiency of existing equipment through continuous improvement. Eric has earned a Lean Six Sigma certification, and has worked with Microsoft Visual Studio, AutoCAD, Solidworks, SQL Server, and a variety of automation platforms.

Eric lives with his family in Bangor, Maine and spends his free time outdoors hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, and skiing.
