Board yield (recovery) is vital to a mill's success. However, achieving the most efficient cutting solutions at your edger may prove difficult and expensive, especially in a manual-feed system. Progress Engineering provides a solution that is not only cost-effective but also efficient and precise. Progress Engineering's EdgePRO™ uses advanced scanning technology to maximize board products and decrease waste, and includes a wide selection of features to guarantee success.
EdgePRO™ offers users a cost-effective edger optimization system using Progress Engineering'’'s customized software, capable of processing data from a variety of three-dimensional transverse or lineal scanning systems. This system delivers:
- processing of multiple grades, allowing for operator selection prior to scanning;
- multiple products per grade, configurable by size and wane rules, including individual product wane rules for thickness, width (face), and length; and
- a variety of solutions including: value optimized solutions, single-board random width solutions, and single and multi-board nominal width solutions.
- EdgePRO™ users can utilize configurable 3D “Cloud” views and configurable scan recording.
- EdgePRO™ offers online and offline modes, as well as a system diagnostic view and logging.
- Solution history is stored in a Microsoft SQL-Server® database.
